Cholesterol and Oat Bran

How many time you heard the phrase... YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT...

Eating a bowl of oat bran for breakfast, may help reduce bad cholesterol LDL. Try it, It lowered my cholesterol significantly. I take 1/4 cup oat bran, add 1/2 cup water and microwave for 2 minutes. Add fruits, sugar or milk according to taste. (I also add a tablespoon of ground flax seeds )

Oats contain soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber lowers blood cholesterol. It attaches itself to cholesterol and flushes it out along with the insoluble fiber. The function of insoluble fiber is to provide a good bowel movement. If the poop floats in the toilet, it is an indication that cholesterol is flushed out of your body. (oil floats in water, same principle)

It is very important to be physically active. Eat a healthy balanced diet, one that is low in fats and high in fiber.

If you are on cholesterol lowering drugs , you may continue your medication, adding oat bran to your diet will help.

Eat healthy Live healthier...
